Guidelines for paper submission

e-GovWorld 2012 is sixth event in series of International Summits on e-Governance. The mission of e-GovWorld initiative is to accelerate the deployment of good e-Governance by enabling sharing of learning practices among the policy makers, academic institutions, civil society and the industry. A significant milestone in the e-governance arena, the e-Gov World summits have become invigorating confluence of the best brains from government agencies, academia, multilateral development organizations, civil society organizations and the industry.

The conference will include a highly selective technical programme on key conference themes consisting of submitted papers, a small set of invited papers on important topics from well-known leaders in the field, and poster sessions of early work. Authors are invited to submit original and unpublished papers, innovative application ideas on mobile applications, nominating a theme-related track or designating the paper as non-theme related ("Other").

Accepted papers will appear in the conference proceedings. High quality papers will be nominated for the Best Paper award in each of the thematic areas. Better papers may be selected for publication in suitable journals. The theme of the 5th International summit on e-Governance is “Mobile Governance Applications - Roadmap for deploymnet of Public Services”. The program will be organized into the following themes and topics but not limited to:

  • Innovative Mobile Applications for transforming public services and roadmap for mobile governance in developing countries.

  • Open and interoperable business models for mobile government.

  • Payment models for enabling mobile transactions.

  • E-government and m-government integration.

  • Public and social pressures leading to m-government.

  • m-Government Technologies as the Infrastructure

  • m-Government Applications and Services.

  • Mobile Health.

  • Context-aware and Location-based Services.

  • Adoption of mobile internet applications and services.

  • M- Country cases.

  • M-Government Business Models.

  • The Future and the potential of M-government.

  • Mobile Content, Mobile Devices.

  • Open Data Systems - Strategies for public sector applications  deployment

  • Cloud Computing - Shared Infrastructure for Government Service Delivery

Important Dates for submission of papers

  • Last Date for Submission of Completed papers December  31, 2011

  • Acceptance Confirmation January 10, 2012

  • Last date for registration as a conference delegate December 31, 2011

Paper Submission Guidelines

  • Hard copies of Papers are NOT accepted.
  • Papers must be in English.
  • When a paper is submitted through email, it is automatically understood that necessary copyright transfer approvals for the publication have been granted to the Conference Organizers.
  • Please indicate on the Cover Page the theme/tracks for which paper is being submitted. Depending on the number of submissions, the organizers reserve the right to move an accepted paper to a different track or to a special session.

 

Manuscript Preparation

  • The manuscript must be typed, single-spaced (including indented material, notes, and references). All headings  including title should 12 point in New Times Roman while text should be 10 point New Times Roman. Margins must be of 1 inch.

  • The paper should be within 10 pages in length.

  • Follow this order when typing manuscripts: Title, Authors, Affiliations, Abstract, Keywords, Main text, Acknowledgements, Appendix and References

  • The abstract is to be within a limit of 100 words. There should be three to five keywords describing the main topics of the paper.

  • The corresponding author should be identified with an asterisk and the full contact details such as name, email, telephone and fax numbers should be given in footnote on the first page.

  • Ensure that the letter 'I' and digit '1', and also the letter 'O' and digit '0' are used properly, and format your article (tabs, indents, etc.) consistently.

  • All photographs, charts and diagrams are to be referred to as "Figure(s)" and should be numbered (in Arabic numerals) consecutively in the order to which they are referred. Tables should be numbered consecutively in the text in Arabic numeral.

Citations & References

  • Present all citations within the text and generate a list of references following the text of the manuscript.

  • In the text, a citation should refer to the author's name (without initials) and year of publication, e.g. "Since Cullen (2000) has shown that..." or " Though there are many emerging programs and initiatives on e-government throughout the world in all levels of government (McClure, 2000)".

  • For 2-6 authors all authors are to be listed at first citation, with "&" separating the last two authors; for more than six authors, use the first six authors followed by et al. In subsequent citations for three or more authors use et al. in the text.

  • The list of references should be arranged alphabetically by authors' names. Works by the same author should be listed in order of publication.

  • The manuscript should be carefully checked to ensure that the spelling of authors' names and dates are exactly the same in the text as in the reference list

  • References should be given in the following form:

Awards for Authors

In order to recognize the efforts of researchers and the stakeholders for their paper contribution, the Progrm Committee of e-Gov World 2012has decided to institute awards for authors. The details are as below:

  • Innovative Idea  on Mobile Application for Public Services  - INR 50,000

  • Best Paper  Award ( In any one Category) - INR 25,000

  • Best Paper ( Runner Up) - INR 15,000

Additionally, all the selected papers will be published in the online compendium that will be published as part of the conference  on www.mgovworld.org
